Strong businesses start with sound business plans.  This session will address the ‘who, what, when & how’ of a business plan and how to use it as the road map to success for you small business now and into the future.

Presenters include:

Amit Basnet, Director of the Central Region, Small Business Development Center 

A seasoned business development professional, Amit has years of experience in entrepreneurship, innovation, new venture planning & support, economic development, business planning and financial analysis. He has a deep passion to help entrepreneurs and emerging companies navigate the nuances of building, sustaining, and scaling up a business enterprise. During his tenure as managing a technology incubator at UMASS Dartmouth, he helped more than half a dozen startups “graduate” and transition into robust job creators.

Amit is a New England Patriots fanatic. In his spare time, he loves to travel and explore new places.

He is fluent in English, Nepali, and Hindi. He serves small business clients in Central Rhode Island.

Kristen Cordeiro, Deputy Director of Business Services, RI Secretary of State Office

In her role as Deputy Director of Business Services, Kristen is responsible for administering the Notary Public, Trademark, Apostille, and Business Information Center programs with a focus on educational resources and community outreach.

She often works with entrepreneurs and seasoned business owners alike to help them navigate the sometimes complex business environment in Rhode Island.
