Keeping Your Business Safe: IT, Cybersecurity & Scams
With methods constantly changing and getting increasingly sophisticated, how do you protect your business and employees from falling victim to hackers, scams and computer viruses. This panel will share an overview of the threats to your IT infrastructure, current best practices for reducing these threats and steps you can take when an attack occurs.

Richard Ptaszek, Lieutenant, Financial Crimes Unit, RI State Police
Lieutenant Ptaszek, heads the Rhode Island State Police Financial Crimes Unit. He provides education around the state about fraud, scams and other financial crimes.
Mickaela Driscoll, Elder Justice Administrator, Office of the RI Attorney General
Mickaela works closely with the Elder Abuse Unit Chief, state, local and federal law enforcement agencies investigating and assisting in prosecution of elder abuse crimes, including physical abuse, sexual abuse, financial exploitation and neglect where the victim is of sixty years of age or older.
In 2015, she received the Victim Advocate of the Year Award from Mothers Against Drunk Driving and 2018 the Saint Elizabeth Community Elder Justice Award. Ms. Driscoll holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
Joseph Stoy, Director of Fraud & Risk, Westerly Community Credit Union
Joe has been with Westerly Community Credit Union since 2017 serving in a variety of roles within the IT Department.
